You may remember that we asked you to complete a Parental Survey during the Parent and Teacher Consultations on 7th and 8th March 2023. We asked parents to take a few minutes to share their thoughts and feelings about our school. The comments and feedback help us to make improvements to existing provision and make plans for new initiatives. We would like to thank all the parents who responded and gave us feedback and comments. The majority of responses were really positive with all the Ofsted statements receiving even higher satisfaction ratings compared to responses taken in the Autumn Term.

We received many positive comments, a sample of which are below:
An overwhelming 100% of parents said that their child feels safe at Newhall Park which is higher than the response that OFSTED has gathered nationally which is 90%. A further 98% of parents stated that their child was happy at Newhall Park, again higher than OFSTED national data which is 89%.
Unfortunately not all parents felt able to agree with all of the statements and some wrote comments which we have tried to respond to below:

One parent said “I would like my child to do different subjects such as baking etc.”
Our response…
We aim to deliver a broad curriculum with a variety of teaching and learning experiences. Children learn about food hygiene and how to cook safely in their Design and Technology lessons. Please take a look at the Curriculum section of the school website for more information about when these units are delivered.

One parent said “If possible I would like to get more homework for my child.”
Our response…
We fully encourage parents to support their child’s learning at home. Please speak to your child’s class teacher about additional homework opportunities.
As a school we want you to be satisfied with the service we provide. We will be contacting parents who expressed a concern or did not agree with the OFSTED statements to discuss their feelings and see what else we can do in the future. The Senior Leadership Team will be out on the path regularly in the morning and after school so please come and talk to us.
I will be conducting further surveys in the future and would really appreciate your input then as well.
Thank you,
