PE Blog – Written by Sam Brodie (KS1 Phase Leader and PE Co-ordinator)

This autumn term has been an exciting time for PE at Newhall Park. We have sent three teams from Years 4, 5 and 6 to sports events to compete against other Bradford schools. Year 6 went to a Tag rugby competition at Odsal stadium and really enjoyed themselves. Year 4 and 5 went to compete in a football competition at Goals Bradford and also showed excellent team spirit. Our children were excellent role models and demonstrated our Ready, Respectful and Safe values.

There will be more sporting events in the future and we are looking forward as a school to competing in them.

We also have an exciting development involving the Bradford Bulls that you have all received letters regarding. We are looking forward to building a strong working partnership with Bradford Bulls and as part of this they have offered every child in school a free season ticket for the upcoming season. This will fantastic opportunity for our community to engage with a local team and be able to see them in action.

We are looking at developing partnerships with other sporting teams and we will release more details when they are available.

As part of our plan for the Sports Premium budget we are also installing a trim trial for Key Stage One children in the playground. This will be installed later in the academic year and will help to develop the children within year one and year two.

Please let us know your thoughts. We are always happy to hear from you.
